Happy Memorial Day!

One of our mom's Army friends wrote this prayer for church yesterday morning. We are going to share it with you. Thank you to all our brave service people, past and present for defending our great USA. This is our 2nd Memorial Day without our Man in Green. We do have an idea when he will be home for good though!

Father God, my soldier is at war. Please keep him safe today. Give him endurance for the mission and hope for his heart. Father, draw him close to you and hold him tight. Please guard his heart from anger and bitterness. Nourish his soul so that, even in the midst of battle, he might represent you to those around him.

Almighty God, my country is at war. Please keep us safe today. Give us humble hearts to follow where you lead. God of all nations, speak to our leaders and let them hear. Thank you for all of those who have given their lives so that we can be free. Please guard our hearts from anger and bitterness. Nourish our souls so that, even in the midst of political struggle, we might represent you to those around us.

Savior God, our souls are at war with this world. Have mercy on us today. Thank you for Jesus who teaches us about sacrifice. He died on the cross so that we can be free. In our freedom we worship you – with trust and hope in your sovereign will. Be glorified! For this life is not ours, but yours. How can we serve you? Speak to us and let us hear.

Sovereign God, my soldier is at war. I want him to come home. Help his children know how much he loves them. Help him feel our love for him as well. And in all things great and small, give us the grace to accept your perfect will. (~Ann Funk)

**Hopefully, in the next couple days, our MTLH will sit down and help us tell you about her trip to Floreeduh and our cousin, Jessie!! We were having Blogger issues yesterday and couldn't sign in.

That is a wonderful prayer. Thank your Man in Green for his service. I hope he is home soon.

In Canada, we remember all those who gave their lives in service to their country on Remembrance Day, November 11th. We also honour all those who currently serve and who have served in the past on that day.
