We have decided that post 500 will be our last here on the blog of "The Cyclone Cats". When we started, who knew we'd hit 500!?
Nothing much happens around here-I stay upstairs and cuddle with the Little Monkey at night and play thundering herd of elephants during the day.
Since I'm an only cat, it's not really "The Cyclone Cats" anymore. When it gets to be months between posts with the same old stuff said and written, we don't see the point to keep repeating ourselves.
Mom is busy hunting for a job (She passed her boards....she's officially an RN!), the Little Monkey has stuff going on a lot, the former MIG is full-time in school so they try to spend time together a lot.
We're grateful to the friends and people we have met. We started blogging when the Man was in Iraq and you provided comic relief, support, friendship during a difficult time for our mom.
She has the Cat Blogosphere in her Reader so she keeps up to date with what's happening. I'm sure you'll see me (us) commenting from time to time around the blogosphere.

So....
It is time to tell you all...it's hard.
Jesse and Dazey don't live with us (me) anymore. I'm an only cat now.
No, they didn't go to the rainbow bridge or anything.
Mom says it was a combination of a lot of things and with a very sad, hurty heart and crying her eyes out over the decision, they went to live with some friends a while ago.
The dog is still here and I don't like it. She bothers me. She chases me. She barks at me. BUT there is a gate so she hardly gets upstairs now. HA.
So, if you've seen my comments around the blogosphere, they are just signed by me, Conner.

so very close...
Our mom is ALMOST done with school. She finishes up one class this week (paws crossed she passes her final test Wed. AM) and then starts her preceptor on Thursday. She got the assignment she wanted for that-oncology. She thinks she wants to be an oncology nurse when she is all done.
As for us, we are living in the upstairs of the house now. We don't come down much because of the
D O G. Now she discovered she can go UP the stairs and harasses us up there. Conner hisses and smacks her, but she keeps coming back. Stupid dog. It barks a lot too. HA, we don't!
It's cooling off so the windows are closed. We spend our days cuddled in the boy's bed, under it or mom's bed or in the hall closet. So, we're warm and fuzzy.

Hi!
Hi kitties!
We're still around! We made it through some serious hots earlier this summer. UGH.
A few things happening:
Our MIG is a former MIG now. he got out of the army in June on a medical discharge. He still has his job until the end of the year and then he'll become a FT student! His long term goal is podiatry school to be a foot doctor!
Mom starts her final semester of nursing school tomorrow! Come December, she'll be done with school, just in time to start working when the (former) MIG starts school.
The Little Monkey is 5. He started pre-kindergarten last week! Can you believe it? He liked it a lot.
Us-we're hanging out upstairs since that D O G Sophie lives downstairs. She doesn't come up here anymore because I put the smack down. She sees me and runs away! I Growl and hiss and I whapped her once on the nose. GRRRRRRRRR I knew I was a LION!
Purrs and prayers to all that need them...

I AM HOME!
What a horrible, horrible time I have had!
Yesterday in the morning, mom cornered me andput me in the P T U. Then I cried all the way cuz the car only means one of 2 things: V E T or moving. I ended up at the V E T
Mom picked me up this afternoon. All I know is that I about fall over when I walk and my mouth hurts.
Mom told me the V E T had to pull...............................5 teeth!! No wonder my mouth hurts!
The good news: stinky goodness for the next 2-3 days!

Purrrrssss for Jesse...
My sister Jesse is at the V E T right now.
At our annual checkup a couple weeks ago, the V E T decided Jesse throws up her food whole cuz her teeths are bad. So, mom and the Monkey scooped her up in the P T U this AM and took her to the V E T. She will have a dental in the morning and get to come home after 4 pm CST tomorrow.
Say a purr for her, ok?
In other news, a big bike ride is happening across Iowa. It's going through our town tomorrow and some famous biker bean that wears yellow is riding that particular leg. Mom isn't wild about the crowd so she'll probably pass on his trip.
AND our little monkey is not so little anymore. He's 5 now! ! ! ! ! He starts pre-kindergarten in a few weeks and mom starts her FINAL semester of nursing school!!!

the hots
the hots have invaded I O W A .
82* at 9 AM with predictions of the temp to 97* and head indexes to 115* !
That is CRAZY HOT! We've been staying cool by laying on the bathroom floor, sleeping under the bed or sleeping in front of the fan.
Stay cool!

no one asked us!
Yeah, remember the previous post with the pictures of the D O G???
Can you believe it lives with us now?????
The beans call it "Sophie". Says she's an Australian Labradoodle and she is here to stay.
So, we pretty much hang out upstairs or in the basement because the dog can't get up OR down the stairs too good. (Thankfully!)
Conner actually.......sniffed her.....without hissing or puffing up!
Dazey and me just steer clear and hiss at her when we saunter by. She hasn't chased us even once but we want her to know that we were here first!

We've moved...
Well, us 3 cats have moved. Mom packed us up in our PTU's on Friday and dumped us off in this new place.
There are lots of weird smells! BUT there are lots of great hiding spots.
Mom, the (former)MIG and the Little Monkey were over yesterday to visit and move more stuff.
They'll be bringing the rest of the stuff on Monday (like the beds and such) so we'll all be together again.
Don't worry....we have food and water and a litter box. Even though we aren't eating or drinking much since we are still so nervous.

The "M" word AGAIN!
We overheard the Mom and the MIG talking about that dreaded "M" word again....MOVING!
Sounds like next month we are moving again. This explains all the boxes around!
Mom was telling someone on the phone that it has an upstairs with lots of closets and even a basement! There's even a sun room! She also said the "steps would be good for the cats, who have gotten pretty chunky here with no steps" HRRRMPPH. We are NOT chunky, we are FLUFFY!
Anyways, mid-June we'll be moving north a whole 3 blocks. Same town, just a new place!
In other news, Mom finished another semester of school! 1 left and she'll graduate with her RN in December!
The Little Monkey is going to be 5 in July and going to pre-kindergarten this fall
And soon, our MIG will no longer be the MIG as he's getting out of the army.

Happy Spring!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes last week! Our post went wonkey-posted on Thursday and then when mom tried to set it so it would post ON our birthday, it didn't work. Silly Blogger.
Despite our family being gone (In TEXAS!) on our birthday, we had a good day. We had a good person to come check on us, feed us, talk to us, etc. Mom and the Little Monkey have made up for their absence with crunchy treats.
We've had open windows a few times lately. Looks a little rainy out this AM, but maybe when mom gets home from clinical, she will open a window.
Enjoy your day!
PS-The Little Monkey asked why I chirp at the birds. He decided that I am talking to them.MOL (!Dazey)

BLIZZARD
It's official. We have a blizzard. The winds are around 40-6-50 mph and it's still snowing.
Mom says she is unsure of the snow amount because of all the blowing. She guesses at least 5-6" so far. Very little traffic out there on Hwy 30, which is a pretty major road through Iowa. It's practically in our backyard.
She had to be at the hospital by 7 AM today for clinicals. The roads were ok, not great then. The school closed at 1 so she got to leave the hospital 2 hours early. She went to Wal-Mart and it was practically a ghost town. Then she got to the Little Monkey's school to get him. They were closing early too and he was napping. We are glad they got home ok.
The MIG didn't get out of work early but everyone is home and all cozy. Our nip fell of the fridge earlier so we all got buzzed. It was a good day!
Mom is hoping for a snow day tomorrow so she can study. The Monkey's school/daycare is closed so if she has school/clinical then the MIG will be home with him.
Us-we'll just be hanging out, sleeping, eating and watching out the windows.
Be safe out there!

it's snowing
Hi,
they are talking about a blizzard for us over the next couple days for us here in Iowa. It's fun to watch outside.
It's been snowing off and on all day. Mom said there was some drizzle stuff when she came home from school.
It's the mom's and MIG's 8th wedding anniversary today too! Mom hopes she gets to stay home from school tomorrow.
