where we been wednesday

we've been missing again.

Here's why:

Last MOnday, The Mom started a class called CNA. Something bout being a nursie some year. She's been gone every single day from the morning to the time the Monkey is sleeping in the after lunch time. We have a girl here to watch the Monkey. Then on the Saturday, she went to a bean bridal shower (the same day as Gree's). And was gone. All day. fpffff.
Monday, she had to go back to the CNA and yesterday and today and tomorrow and the next tomorrow. She said only 3 days after that next tomorrow. She's tired and cranky.

The MIG is somewhere in Eastern Iowa. Something about water, floods, levees and such. He left Monday. We're not sure when he'll be home.

Our Ant Kat was act-tee-vated last week. Same thing about floods, levess, water etc. She worked really hard with litter, we mean, sandbags. She gotted off duty yesterday but is on "standby" to maybe go to eastern Iowa.

So, we hope to be back next week.

You may have heard about the tornadoes that came through the Midwest this weekend. On Sunday afternoon, an EF5 tornado completley destroyed the town of Parkersburg, Iowa. It's gone. All gone. (this town is 101 miles north east of us here).

National Weather Service personnel have rated the Parkersburg-New Hartford-Dunkerton tornado as a low-end EF-5 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale at the point of maximum damage.This is the first EF5 tornado in Iowa since the Jordan tornado of June 13, 1976.

“This was a violent and historic storm,” said Karl Jungbluth, science and operations officer for the weather service in Des Moines.Winds reached 200 to 205 miles per hour, he said.

Officials said at least some of the people killed in Parkersburg were in their basements during the tornado. They died when their homes were sucked off their foundation.

State officials said Tuesday that a seventh person has died from storm-related injuries. Gov. Chet Culver said Tuesday that the person was critically hurt and died at an eastern Iowa hospital.

We have not had that severe weather here. We've been getting the front of the storms, with heavy rains, some thunder and lightening. It rained most of the day on Tuesday.

Our Mom and the MIG have lived here in Iowa all their lives and have never experienced a tornado....and we hope to keep it that way!

This is an Amur Leopoard. The Mom, Ant Kat, the Little Monkey and our Gramma went somewhere called the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha on Monday (Leaving us all alone!). They saw big kitties, like this one. We're glad he stayed there....he looks kinda hungry.

Alas, we have fallen behind again in our blogging and visiting.
The Little Monkey isn't sleeping very good at night so mom has been up a lot with him lately so she's pretty tired. To tired to help us blog and go visiting. And now, he is getting a cold so that means more late nights.
We don't think he realizes that him getting up disturbs OUR sleep!

The Little Monkey climbed up on OUR counter this morning. Yes it was nice he filled our food bowls, it was NOT COOL that he drank from our water bowl! Gross! Little Monkey spit!

Dazey and Conner are sad that they may not have any Valentine's to post for their Valentines tomorrow. If worse comes to worse, mom said she would help us post them from last year. We're all about recycling!

In the weather department: More snow yesterday. Our gramma has tried to come down to our house 3 weeks in a row and it snows every time! More snow tomorrow and really cold temps through the weekend. That means a lotta snuggling.

PS-->Conner Cloud is grounded from the computer 'cuz his tail got all puffy and he hissed and hissed at me and the Mom that Lives Here. (There was a window open and maybe a bad kitty outside).

Whirlybird Wednesday again!

First, Jesse and Dazey want to say thank you to everyone for the birfday wishes yesterday! We got stinky goodness for breakfast (we don't get it very often cuz it makes Jesse barf), a new automatic waterer and some new fevur butt mousies! And there were windows open, which was the greatest present of all!! Thanks again!!

Whirlybird Wednesday

(It was gonna be) Whirlybird Wednesday

It was going to be a Whirlybird Wednesday here but the MTLH didn't get any pictures yet of us playing with our new Whirlybird that came yesterday. Since everybody who is everybody in the blogosphere seems to have one, we begged and begged until we gotted her convinced we needed one too. It came yesterday!! But the MTLH had to go to a basketball game last night so we couldn't play long with it. Hopefully today she will get the flashy box and maybe make a movie of us playing with it too!!

In other news, it is supposed to be 50* here today! Most of the frozen white stuff is gone from the ground and we have been seeing more and more birdies from our squirrel watching window. MTLH even said she has been seeing robins!
