We had a snake in our house yesterday-2 times!
Thursday night, mom heard water running down in the basement. When she looked, there was water coming out of the sink (and it was full!) and water out of the drain! It was almost a swimming pool! Since the Man in Green is gone, she tried to fix it herself. It didn't work. So, she called some man named Jerry from Roto Rooter to come look at it.
He came and looked at it and used a big metal snake down the drain! It ate away some yucky stuff but then some black yucky stuff came up the floor. But, he got it fixed and told mom it was all better. So, she ran her dishwasher then did some laundry. Well....Jerry must not have fixed it enough because when she went to put the wet stuff in the drying machine, there was water all over the floor again. Jerry came back again yesterday. She ran the dishwasher and so far, so good. Hasn't tried the laundry machine yet. Dazey tried to snoopervise both times but was scared of the snake.
GOOD NEWS!: Our Man in Green is coming home a whole day early from Texas! They gotted all their work done so he is coming home TONIGHT! YAY!

Our Man in Green leaves tomorrow to go to Texas. All the army stuff came there on a big boat from Irak so he and 3 other guys have to go down and sort it all out. Then they will put in on a big truck to come home here to Iowah. He will be gone until after suppertime on Sunday. We'll miss him. He's a good bed warmer upper and it's getting cold here.
(we'll probably be bad while he's gone......hehehe)

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! We have waited a long long time for our Man in Green to come home for good! Mom says it's only 27 hours away now (6 pm 9/13/07) until he comes back home! They have to have a ceremony then they can see their families! Mom says we can't go. That's ok though, there would be to many people there.
Another article from the Boone Paper today:
After spending one year and nine months away from home, about 50 Iowa Army National Guard Soldiers will be returning to Boone Thursday, September 13, at the Des Moines Area Community College gymnasium, Boone campus, 1125, Hancock Drive, where a community homecoming ceremony will take place.
The members of Co. C, 2nd Battalion, 147th Aviation have been at Ft. Hood, Texas for the past few days, according to Lt. Col. Greg Hapgood, Iowa National Guard Public Affairs Officer."The soldiers will arrive at the DMACC campus and we will bring them right into the gymnasium and have a ceremony," he said. "The ceremony will last about 20 minutes. There will be some dignitaries there that will welcome them and some speakers, and then we will release them to their families just as soon as possible.
"The soldiers were mobilized in January 2006 and departed Iowa for their mobilization station at Fort Hood, Texas in April 2006. Following additional training, the troop deployed to Iraq and the Central Command (CENTCOM) theater of operations in support of the global war on terrorism in September 2006, according to an Iowa National Guard press release.Based in Boone, Company C flies and maintains UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters.
While in Iraq, the unit provided air movement support of personnel and equipment, conducted air assault operations, executed emergency casualty evacuation and performed combat search and rescue operations and humanitarian relief missions. This unit was previously deployed during Operation Desert Shield/Storm, and participated in Operation Bright Star in Egypt.Hapgood said the public is, "welcome and encouraged to attend this homecoming ceremony."

last night. It rained and boomed. There were flashy lights. A really loud noise was wailing outside. It was very windy. Mom says we were in a tornado watch. And there was a confirmed tornado in the county to the west of us. Mom took some pictures so hopefully, she will upload them for us later if she has time.
In other news, our Man in Green should be leaving Iraq today! They have to spend time in Quwate Kuwait for a few days. Then they will fly to the USA! And be in Texas for a little while. Then home to us here in IOWAH!

We bet you'll never guess what happened here today! Yup.................MORE RAIN! Our gramma got 4 1/2 inches overnight! Add that to the 12" they already had. It's just not good. In gramma's town, they had to evacuate a nursing home.
Luckily, we've had no more water in our basement.
We think we are going to build an ark. Victor and Bonnie, do you want to come?
"The National Weather Service says more precipitation is on the way, forecasting heavy rain through Friday for most of northern and central Iowa. The entire northern half of the state remains under flash flood watches. The Weather Service predicts general rainfall totals of from two to four inches in the next 24 hours, with some areas receiving as much as five to seven inches. That would come on top of rainfall totals that have reached ten to 12 inches in parts of northern Iowa.
In Humboldt, residents of a senior care center were evacuated without injury or incident. The town's mayor, Steve Samuels, said that the community has received 14 inches of rain since Friday and that "the ground is just saturated."article about the care center evacuation

We are all sad at our house tonight. Our Man in Green leaves to head back to Irak tomorrow. His airplane leaves at 5:50 AM. The Mom that Lives Here, the 2-legged kitten and him have to leave super-duper early to get the airport place on time (about an hour away). The Mom is happy that she and the 2-legged kitten can follow him to his gate and wait with him (only cuz he is military).
This is the last night for cuddles from him for almost 6 whole weeks. We hope that the time goes by super fast!
Would you keep him in your prurryers for a safe and speedy journey back?

Hi everyone!
We would like to request prayers for our Man in Green as he begins the 2 day trip home to us! If all goes well, he should be home to IOWAH sometime late Thursday afternoon.
The first step of his journey starts at 11 PM his time (2 PM CST) 16 July (Monday). They tell him when he leaves.
From Irak, he goes to Kuwait where he may wait anywhere from a few hours to a few days for a flight to Germany. From Germany, we thinks he goes to Ireland then to Atlanta then into Des Moines.
As you can imagine, our Mom that Lives Here is very excited! The Man in Green has not seen the 2-legged kitten since September (even before we started bloggin!) He will be very surprised at how much he has grown! The sucky machine has been out a lot so we apologize for not leaving comments on your bloggies. We are reading, just trying to get to as many as our mom will let us.
We'll be around a tiny bit the two weeks he is home. Probably not blogging or commenting much, but know that we will miss you all and can't wait to get back to tell you all about our adventures with our Man in Green!
6 PM Update: Our Man in Green reports again at 10 AM tomorrow (our time).
