It's been almost 2 weeks since mom helped us blog. Wanna know why? Here's why...
1. We had some really nice weather-OPEN WINDOW weather. We preferred to sit in the windows rather than blog. (but now the beans say snow tomorrow 6-10").
2. The MIG and the Little Monkey were sick. Then they got better.
3. Now mom thinks the Little Monkey is sick again. He's coughing bad and wheezing. She thinks it's an ear infection cuz those are always his symptoms (and that's what he had 2 weeks ago)
4. School keeps her busy. She's taking 2 classes this time-a speech class for 3 hours on Monday nights and anatomy (again-she withdrew last time) which meets 2x/week.
5. The MIG's mom was here the other day. We gotted some new toys.
6. Mom's mom was here last week.
7. Mom had to watch a little blurpy thing last week.
8. The MIG and mom went out to dinner for their anniversary- a week late. It's cuz everybody had been sick.
9. We've been mourning the loss of some of our kitty friends.
10. We've been hiding from the Little Monkey (Conner, especially).
11. Nothing exciting ever happens so we didn't have anything to blog about.
12. Did we tell you we had the windows open like 3 days in a row? Two days it got to 60*! In IOWA! IN FEBRUARY!
13. Mom's macbook had to fly away for a while. The screen died (and it was only 3 weeks old!) But it flew away and got fixed and she got it back.
We'll probably be sporadic for a while, but we'll be around. Mom has a really big unit to study in her anatomy class so that will take up a lot of time. And she has to prepare a speech for her class on Monday. And to to a wedding (weather permitting) on Saturday. And make supper for some firends on Sunday. *sigh* we'll see her when she sleeps, we guess.

Thursday Thirteen #34
We posted this Thursday Thirteen back in June. We thought we would update you on the progress that was made or stuff that was done.
1. The MIG has his annual 2 week training period. This is starting on Saturday. So, he'll be gone more than usual. After this, then he was activated for 3 days for flood duty!
2. The Mom starts a class at the college on the 9th of June. She passed this class with a 97%
3. The Little Monkey will have a birfday (2) Lots of people here.
4. The Mom will have a birfday 2 weeks after the Little Monkey (she'll be like 29 squillion) Uneventful. Just the wedding and lots of rain that night.
5. Our gramma is leaving for Florida. So she won't be around for a while. She didn't bring us back nothin'!
6. The Mom says they are going to put a new roof on the house sometime this summer. That means a lot of noises. Bah. Finished. We are glad. It was very noisy here.
7. Construction in the downstairs bathroom is ongoing (hopefully be finished so we can go back in that room and the room next to it.) This is still ongoing. Well, it hasn't even been touched in a long time.
8. The Mom is growing stuff in pots. We asked about 'nip....she keeps forgetting to get some. She gotted one green pepper cutted up so far. One died. And the plants have more on them yet! NO NIP!
9. The Mom and the Little Monkey are both in a wedding (on The Mom's birfday!) The Little Monkey got sick and wasn't able to be in the wedding. The Mom still went and the MIG stayed with the Little Monkey.
10. The Mom's friend that has been living/teaching in Kuwait for the last year will be home for a visit. She likes cats. We like her. This is good! She stayed here for a whole day and night and almost another day. She was great at pets!
11. In reference to number 2, the Little Monkey will have a babysitter during the time The Mom is at class. We normally just stay upstairs when other people are here. (Well, not normally Dazey-she's friendly) The babysitter comes back 2x/week now cuz The Mom has her anatomy class before the MIG gets home from work.
12. We'll be keeping an eye on the gray/white kitty that keeps wandering through our yard. We need to post about him/her soon! He/she was here last week.
13. OPEN WINDOWS!!!! They are still open and we're loving it!

Thursday Thirteen #31
The Mom has been going through EVERYTHING this week. Stuff is getting moved, thrown out, given away, boxed up. We think she's nuts.
Then the MIG made a big hole in the downstairs litterbox room. It's a mess in there....good thing The Mom doesn't have to clean up THAT Mess!
13 things that have been happening here the last week.
1. The Mom has cleaned out the closets in the living room.
2. The Mom and our gramma boxed up some of her pretties in the "Dazey get down from there" place.
3. The sucky monster has been out.
4. Strange people came and got 2 couches.
5. Some other strange people came and took the big table. The one that we NEVER EVER EVER got on. (NEVER!)
6. The MIG fixed a big hole in the wall in the Little Monkey's toy room.
7. The MIG made a big hole in the wall in the downstairs litterbox room.
8. All 3 litterboxes got brand new litter. (that's 2 weeks in a row! Some weeks only 2 get new litter)
9. Some windows were open for a little bit this week.
10. The MIG brought this big roll of stuff home. Says it's for the downstairs litterbox room's floor.
11. Conner slept right in between the MIG and the Mom last night. Smack dab in the middle. We think that's the first time EVER.
12. The Little Monkey colored with a green thing on the wall today. The Mom washed it right off though. He gotted lucky he didn't get a spanking.
13. The Mom has been going through everything-closets, cabinets, boxes to throw stuff out or to get rid of it. She's been busy.
We're hoping the rain/snow mix they are talking about on the news will miss us. The robins wouldn't be to happy if it snowed.

Thursday Thirteen #30
We haven't done a TT in a long time!
Today, The Mom, The Little Monkey and Ant Kat are going to our gramma's house. We don't get to go. We like our gramma and all, but we just ain't going. Here are the 13 reasons why:
13 Reasons Why We Won't Go to Gramma's House.
1-It involves the car. We HATE the car.
2-We have to be in PTU's. We hate them almost as much as the car.
3. We have to sit next to each other in our PTU's in the car.
4-It's hours and hours and hours (Wait, mom says only 60 miles)
5. There are no good hidey places there.
6. We can't get up on the counters.
7. The Mom would have to take a litter box for us. She doesn't want to do that.
8-There would be no safe places to hide from the Little Monkey, not like here at home.
9. Gramma will spend more time playing with the Little Monkey than us.
10. Did we mention it involves the car?
11. As soon as we would get settled, it'd be time to leave.
12. We get in trouble for trying to eat Gramma's plants.
13. There is no place like home.

Thursday Thirteen #29-HAPPEE ANNIVERSAREE!

(Their wedding cake. They gotted married 5 days after the MIG asked Mom. His old National Guard unit was sposed to go to Irak then. They never did. So, it was a small, private ceremony at mom's church. Ant Kat was the Maid of Honor and the MIG's good friend Steve was the Best Man. There were about 17 people besides Mom, the MIG and the pastor)
It's our mom and the MIG's 5th Wedding anniversaree today! So, we've known the MIG for a whole 6 years and a few weeks now!
Thirteen things that have changed in our lives since mom and the MIG gotted together (not just married)
1. Jesse and me (Dazey) got to come live in this big house. Before, we were living in an apartment with mom's ex-boyfriend. When she moved out, she couldn't take us with her. A couple months later, she came and got us!
2. Conner (and his old dad) came to live with us almost 6 years ago (August).
3. We've gone from a small bed in mom's room to a big bed!
4. We eat a different food now.
5. We use 3 litter boxes.
6. The Man in Green was gone for a very long time to Irak. We kept mom company.
7. The Little Monkey (then, 2-legged kitten) came around in July 06.
8. Mom doesn't go out day hunting anymore. She stays home all day.
9. We got 2 woofie cousins now-Abbott and Bullet.
10. There are a lot more windows that can open for us to lay in.
11. Mom used to have a hamster. he died before she came to live here though. Jesse and I would watch him through his cage and sometimes jump in with him!
12. Mom always tells the Man in Green that she has had me and Jesse longer than him! It's true! She gotted us 8 months before she ever met the Man in Green.
13. We get double the love and scritches!

Thursday Thirteen #27
If you are in the US, you probably know that the Democratic cauceses are TODAY here in Iowa. Our mom is hijacking the blog to tell you 13 reasons why she will be glad they are OVER. She knows it's important, but it sure has been annoying the last few months!
Thirteen things we (our mom) won't miss about the Iowa Caucauses.
1. The recorded phone calls from the candidates.
2. The phone calls from the candidates "local" representative.
3. All the mailings! We've gotten them from people in other states, campaigning for their person.
4. Unknown people dropping by at night..... late at night. They want to talk about their candidate.
5. The billboards will go away.
6. NO MORE TV ADS!
7. No more radio ads!
8. Being "First in the Nation" isn't all it's cracked up to be.
9. The newspapers will carry other news.
10. No more Political survey calls asking if she is going to caucus and if so, who for.
11. The TV news will talk about something else!
12. The candidates will basically forget about Iowa now.
13. No more candidate visits means that there will be no unexpected road closures or places that are closed because of it.

Then, instead of going to our gramma's house, our gramma, grandpa, Ant Kat, Uncle Travis and Uncle Bruce came here! So, we weren't alone on Chrissymas either!
- Go outside more!
- Eat lots and lots and lots of Temptations and other treats!
- Beg for more tuna!
- Find a stinky goodness all 3 of us like!
- Find new nappy spots!
- Drink more fishy water from Goner's bowl (Mom's not happy about that)
- Let the Little Monkey pet us (maybe)
- Blog more regularly (MOM!)
- Comment more on our friend's blogs. We read a lot of them, but don't always leave comments.
- Get up on the counter where we are not supposed to be (Mom doesn't like this one either)
- Pose for more pictures for our blog.
- Meet new blogging friends!
- HAVE THE BEST YEAR EVER! Me and Jesse are gonna be 7 years old in April and Conner will be 6 in March!

Thanksgiving Thursday Thirteen #25
Thirteen things we are very thankful for this year:
- The biggest thing we are thankful for is that our Man in Green (and his entire unit) made it home from a 18 month tour of duty (12 months in Iraq).
- We are thankful (and grateful!) for all the troops that keep us safe. Our prayers are with those who aren't home with their families this holiday season. We certainly know what it's like to have someone missing at the holidays.
- We are thankful that us 3 kitties are all healthy and well-fed.
- We're thankful for Crunchies, clean water, clean litter boxes, temptations and the occasional meal of stinky goodness.
- NIP! (is it wrong to make this it's own number?!)
- We have a warm, cozy house to live in with our family. This is very important during Iowa winters or any other time there is snow on the ground (like RIGHT NOW! It snowed yesterday!)
- We are thankful we have beans who love us and take care of us. Even the little monkey, though he likes to give Dazey big loves she doesn't like.
- Mom says to be thankful for the bean's health. She's especially happy and thankful that the little monkey is much healthier than he was at this time last year (she says they finally got the asthma figured out and under control)
- We are so thankful for the Cat Blogosphere. We've met all sorts of cool and great cats! This is truly a special group that we are so thankful to have found.
- We're thankful for open windows when the weather is good! (not for a long while now)
- We're thankful for warm computer tv's to lay on when it's cold outside.
- We're thankful that the Little Monkey throws foods on the floor! We wouldn't get them otherwise!
- *Repeat* We're thankful to have a safe, warm, forever home with beans who take super great care of us!
HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Try to get some TURKEY!

Thursday Thirteen #24
With all the talk of new beans/blurpy things showing up, we thought we would tell you all the yummy stuff our little monkey drops on the floor! This is what all you cats who are getting little beans can look forward to!
- Hot dogs. We weren't to sure about these at first, but they are yummy!
- Bits of hamburger!
- CHICKEN!
- TUNA! (from the noodles!)
- Mini Marshmallows (Jesse likes these-she liked these before he came around but now he gets them as a snack so Jesse helps get what he drops).
- Bread!
- Fishy sticks
- Crackers (Conner LOVES crackers!)
- He dropped some bannaner one time. We licked it but didnt' really like it.
- CHEESE! CHEESE IS GOOD!
- Macaroni and cheese....it's fun to lick off the cheese!
- Milk puddles in the kitchen!
- Mushrooms (Jesse is the only one who likes these-and only sometimes)

Thursday Thirteen #23

First of all, did you get a chance to see all the peace globes yesterday? !WOW! We went and visited as many as we could from the cat blogosphere. We tried to get everybody but a couple times, blogger went *pffff* on us. If we missed you, we're sorry!
Second, we wanted to remind you that November is American Diabetes Month. Our Man in Green's Mom has diabetes and our mom's dad has diabetes too. It can be scary sometimes for people who have it but both our grandma and grandpa take care of themselves.
We deicded to dedicate this Thursday Thirteen to Facts about Diabetes:
- There are 20.8 million children and adults in the United States, or 7% of the population, who have diabetes.
- While an estimated 14.6 million have been diagnosed with diabetes, unfortunately, 6.2 million people (or nearly one-third) are unaware that they have the disease.
- Diabetes is the fifth-deadliest disease in the United States, and it has no cure.
- It is estimated that 5-10% of Americans who are diagnosed with diabetes have type 1 diabetes.
- In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is needed to convert sugar (glucose), starches and other food into energy needed for daily life.
- Most Americans who are diagnosed with diabetes have type 2 diabetes
- In type 2 diabetes, either the body does not produce enough insulin or the cells ignore the insulin. Insulin is necessary for the body to be able to use sugar. Sugar is the basic fuel for the cells in the body, and insulin takes the sugar from the blood into the cells.
- Gestational diabetes affects about 4% of all pregnant women - about 135,000 cases of gestational diabetes in the United States each year. (our mom didn't like taking this test when she was going to hatch the little monkey)
- There are 54 million Americans who have pre-diabetes, in addition to the 20.8 million with diabetes.
- Pre-diabetes is a condition that occurs when a person's blood glucose levels are higher than normal but not high enough for a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.
- Every 21 seconds, another American is diagnosed with diabetes.
- The total annual economic cost of diabetes in 2002 was estimated to be $132 billion, or one out of every 10 health care dollars spent in the United States
- Based on death certificate data, diabetes contributed to 224,092 deaths in 2002
Diabetes can be a very scary illness. We hope that there is a cure someday!
All this info was found at the American Diabetes Association website.

Thursday Thirteen #22
Our mom has been bad again at helping us blog. We really need to learn how to type! Maybe the Little Monkey knows how? He plays over here, even when our mom and the Man in Green tell him NO!
We've had a busy week. On Sunday, the Man in Green's mom came to visit. Conner gave her all sorts of snuggles and headbumps. A couple days ago, our gramma came down. Yesterday, it was that Halloweennie thing where the door bell rings about 23 hundred squillion times. Mom said she had 50 kids, which is the most she's ever had. We all stayed upstairs. The Little Monkey helped with the door bell rings. Monday, our Nip Ravioli's came in the mail! We'll have to have mom take some pictures to post.
Thirteen Ways to know Fall is here...
- All the windows are closed up tight.
- There are more blankets on mom's bed.
- There are no birdies in the backyard.
- All 3 of us are sleeping in bed with mom. That only happens when it gets cold!
- It gets dark way early.
- It stays dark late.
- You can smell smoke in the air when the door opens (peoples are burning their leaves).
- Mom is wearing her crazy things called slippers. She says they keep her feet warm. That's what WE'RE FOR!
- The Little Monkey doesn't get to play in the giant litter box outside anymore.
- The Man in Green is holed up in another room all the time "going to college". We don't know what that is, but it takes away OUR time to snuggle!
- The beans watch something called "football" on the weekends.
- The heaty machine is blowing hot air now.
- The Little Monkey has a machine in his room filled with water that goes away. Mom says it helps him breathe better. Where does the water go?

Thursday Thirteen #21
Our Man in Green is scheduled home for good in around 4 weeks! That makes us very happy, but makes our Mom that Lives Here crazy! She is making a huge long list of things she needs to do before he comes home. Here are some of them...
- Have a big sucky machine with water come to get the carpets wet.
- Clean the fans that go round and round (who sees upthere anyway?)
- Wash windows.
- Clean 2 bathrooms.
- Dust everything. That means move our hair from stuff.
- Get her new window blinds and valances up.
- Finish painting in the living room.
- Paint the kitchen.
- Clean the 2-legged kitten's room.
- Put some of the 2-legged kittens toys (ie. swing) away.
- Catch up on all her filing of the important papers.
- Get her haircut and her toes painted. We wonder why she doesn't get mannycures like Skeezix?
- Hang yellow ribbons on the trees and get a USA Flag to hang up proudly.
PS-We are trying to get around to everybody's blogs. Some days, we read a lot and dont' leave a lot of comments. We are trying to get caught up on that though! So, don't worry...we'll visit AND leave a comment soon!

Thursday Thirteen #20
Hi everyone! We have been having a good time with our Man in Green. We are a little sad though because he has to leave to go back to irak on Saturday, before the sun comes up! But, if things go well, he'll be back home FOR GOOD in about 6 weeks! (mid-September!) YAY!
- Sniffed him. A lot.
- Cuddled with him. Mostly around 2-3 AM when we knows he wants a cute kitty to cuddle with.
- Yakked up hairballs for him to clean up.
- Jumped in his lap when he was here at the computer.
- Meowed for food at 5:30 AM even when our bowls were still half full.
- Got clippy claws. We were not thrilled with this. Our MTLH doesn't like to do it. So, either he does it or we go to the evil V-E-T.
- Snoopervised him in the bathroom. What is that white stuff he puts on his face?
- Climbed into his bag. It smells VERY interesting in there!
- Played Whirlybird!
- Got out of his way when he was playing with the 2-legged kitten's truck. It moves! And comes after us!
- Purred. A lot.
- Got brushed.
- Gotted lots and lots of loves!
We will miss our Man in Green when he leaves again. But, we is strong kitties so we will get through it the best we can-by cuddling up to the Mom that Lives Here! We'll be back to visiting and blogging next week sometime.

Thursday Thirteen Edition #18
- Lots of sand for the ginourmus litter box in the backyard.
- Birdies. Lots and lots of birdies to ea....er.....play with.
- Fish. They wented to the ocean so why is there no seafood like tuna or crab or lobster in our dishes, huh Mom?
- A lizard!!!! Our cousin Jessie is a lizard hunter so she could have easily caughted us one and the MTLH or gramma could have bringed it here for us to play with!!
- B-B-Q. We are not exactly sure what this is, but it sounds like some good food!
- Our cousin Jessie! We likes to meet new friends!
- Some plants to dig in! The Auntie Sharon has a lot in her backyard, from what we can see in the pictures.
- Sunshine and heat! It's raining here again. Not just a little bit, A LOT!
- Catnip bananers. Bananers grow on trees and we bets there is lots of catnip bananer trees in Florreduh!
- The opposum that came to eat kitty crunchies in Auntie Sharon's front yard. See #6.
- The big orange fluffy kitty that likes to lay under Auntie Sharon's truck. Again, see #6.
- Conner's girlfriend Snowy! We found out she lives in Tampa, which is EXACTLY where the MTLH, our gramma and the 2-legged kitten went!
- Some seashells from the ocean. We bet they are fun to put the bitey on. (Mom says she got some but they are still at Auntie Sharon's).

Thursday Thirteen Edition 17
Oh what fun our Thursday Thirteen will be this week. Our Ant Kat (MTV) is helping us this week because, as you all know, the MTLH (Mom That Lives Here) decided to take our Gramma and the 2 legged bean to Floor-i-duh. As far as we know, they haven't seen Daisy
So this week we decided to tell all of our friends why we hate when the MTLH and the Man in Green leave us because we think it is unfair.
1. (Most important) We get fewer scritches and lovies than we do when they are home. The 2 legged kitten takes all of our attention!
2. No one will play with our Whirlybird with us. That is why we tolerate the baby bean, because he's learning to play with us!
3. We only get food when someone can come feed us, which means no stinky goodness!
4. We can't go visit our friends in the Blogosphere
5. No open windows to lay in or fight over!
6. We can't find out how our Man in Green and his friends are doing in Irak...we worry too mom!
7. We have less opportunity to try to play in the ginormous litterbox!
8. They don't take us with, which we think is rude.
9. Goner (Conner's fishie) gets put on the stove, where we can't go, so we can't try to catch and eat...err catch and play with him
10. Nobody to make the big bed warm at night for us. (it's kind of kold here right now)
